The people of Cornerstone are seeking a solo pastor. We are looking for a God-fearing man to lead the congregation in glorifying God and in fulfilling His will for the church, someone who will seek, by his words and life, to honor God in every way. We are looking for a strongly Reformed man who will preach the Gospel and expound the Word, who has a vision for vibrant worship, discipleship, outreach, shared leadership and building church community, and who has a heart for shepherding and youth.
Located in suburban Youngstown, about halfway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh, the church has just over 100 members and is committed to the historic Reformed faith. We had an average total attendance of 76 on the Sunday mornings of 2007. The church's financial situation is stable and includes support for local and foreign missions amounting to 15% of the church budget. The building and property are well maintained and have no mortgage.
The worship service has a blend of traditional and contemporary music and includes lay leadership. There are Sunday school programs for adults and children, including two lively adult classes. A youth program is under way. During the school year, four small groups meet weekly for Bible studies. During the summer we have a biweekly "Back Yard Fellowship." The Women in the Church (WIC) holds a vital position as they organize times of fellowship, help with needs of the church family, are involved in missions outreach and encourage the congregation as a whole to live out their faith in practical ways. The deacons are active with missions of mercy and also direct building maintenance. A seniors' group has recently been organized.
