What We Believe

Cornerstone Presbyterian Church

Presbyterian Church in America (PCA)

In January of 2007, the leadership and members of Cornerstone adopted this statement of intent.

Desiderata

We desire to:

1.  know God better, to grow in our faith, and to give evidence to our community that we are living for Christ.

2.  worship God joyfully and reverently.

3.  hear preaching from the Bible that will challenge us to live more like Jesus.

4.  welcome people of all ages and backgrounds.

5.  maintain a general spirit of encouragement, support, unity in the Spirit, and love.

6.  enable followers of Jesus to use their talents in service to God, the church, and the world.

7.  teach and encourage one another to point others to Jesus Christ.

8.  see people turn from their sin, by the grace of God, through the message of Jesus Christ.

9.  Biblically, prayerfully, and thoughtfully consider why we do what we do.

10.  remain committed to our Reformed doctrinal position and evangelical stance.

desideratum, plural desiderata (Latin):   Something considered necessary or highly desirable.
